STATEMENT OF INTENT - WEBSITE

Statement of intent – website

For the website for my music video I will include the codes and conventions to fit with the genre of dance music. My logo will express the theme of dance as it includes a coloured sound-wave behind the font. I will the use a san serif font just like I have in my logo, this is because it gives off a modern feeling as well as being more attractive to my young age group. I will also include a lot of visual imagery to interest my audience combined with areas of text to ensure I don’t have large lumps sums of text as this can be unattractive and result in readers getting bored. These images will be similar to ones or even the same as in my Music video which creates synergy between my website and my music video. On my menu bar I will include a ‘home’, ‘about’, and ‘video’ and ‘interview’ buttons to show my knowledge of the codes and conventions of the genre of dance music. On my website I will involve a combination of colours, logos and text to portray similar characteristics of my music video for example, summer photos and palm tree conventions. The design and colour scheme of my website should cause my audience to associate it with the music video.  My website will demonstrate my knowledge of Gorgon city and some information about them as well as my own production company. I will then involve some aspects of Gorgon City’s live performances of them at concerts and festivals. My music video will then be on the home page where the audience can watch it. For my website I have planned to involve an exclusive interview of the artist. If this was a real website, then I would constantly do this to keep it up to date and informative for my audience. With only two working pages, it shows a snapshot of the websites potential as it would continuously evolve with the other pages being filled as well. The two pages being show cased are the home and interview pages which consist of the music video and the exclusive interview with Gorgon City.
