SIGMA - TEXTUAL ANYALYSIS

Image
Textual analysis Sigma - Nobody to love This music video is filmed in Cape town in South Africa and is about two girls on a road trip together. It is similar to how i would like to film mine as it is in a hot foreign country of a teenage girl and an older woman. It uses numerous locations similar to ones i would like to use such as the beach and driving in a car. Editing : In this music video they use a combination of normal speed, fast speed and slow speed shots. The screen shot on the right is a slow motion shot of the two girls jumping into a lake, this is combined with the slower part of the song giving emphasis on this specific point of the song. I would like to use a similar idea of combining the slower parts of the song with a slowed down shot.  After this shot the song beat begins to get a lot faster resulting in a change of clips as the speed increases. The first shot on the right shows the two girls dancing and as the next beat is heard the clip zooms...

NARRATIVE IDEAS FOR MY VIDEO

Narrative ideas for my music video 1.  I am going to have one character who is a middle aged woman looking back on photos of when she was younger with her friends, this will then lead to her daughter going out and getting ready to go out which will remind her even more of her teen years. It will begin with the older woman sitting around, reading her book doing daily chores whilst her daughter is going out, having fun and partying. This will then lead to the mum starting to be more fun and go out with her daughter and then end up partying with her daughter. The final shot will then have her looking at the same photo of her and her friends and then smiling. 2. There will be a mother and daughter going on a holiday together and exploring places and spending time with one another. It will start from in the airport, on the plane, in Spain and then back on the plane, back through the airport and home.

WEBSITE BUILDER

I have chosen to use the website builder Wix.com, this is because it is simple and easy to navigate and create. There are also many templates in which i can choose from to create the best representative of a website for the specific type of artist, meeting the expectations of the audience.

LIST TO CREATE WEB PAGES

Homepage: - Photo of the artist: Anna - Artists name in bold - 3 boxes along the bottom of the screen which will be hyperlinked About page: - another photo of the artist - paragraph of text - quotations Music page: - album covers - Anna holding one of the album covers - mum holding one of the covers - hyperlinked to youtube - photo of artist Video page: - music video - text about video - logo of production company - photo of artist Tour page: - Tour dates - merchandise - photo of artist Contact page: - fake email address - production company information

FLAT PLAN DRAFT OF WEBSITE

Image
Home page: For my website i have chosen to use an image of Anna who features in my music video but is also the artist Gorgon City. This is because it encompasses the same feeling as the music video. I then chose to have on the home page some important and grabbing sections for the audience, which will encourage them to click on the boxes which will be hyperlinks, to read and watch clips on the artist. Video page:                                                                      The font I am using is Helvecta in bold for the artists name and the hyperlink boxes. This san serif font is good for making the text stand out clearly for the audience to read and draw their attention to before anything else on the screen. On my video page i will then have Gorgon City's "latest" music video (my vi...

STATEMENT OF INTENT - WEBSITE

Statement of intent – website For the website for my music video I will include the codes and conventions to fit with the genre of dance music. My logo will express the theme of dance as it includes a coloured sound-wave behind the font. I will the use a san serif font just like I have in my logo, this is because it gives off a modern feeling as well as being more attractive to my young age group. I will also include a lot of visual imagery to interest my audience combined with areas of text to ensure I don’t have large lumps sums of text as this can be unattractive and result in readers getting bored. These images will be similar to ones or even the same as in my Music video which creates synergy between my website and my music video. On my menu bar I will include a ‘home’, ‘about’, and ‘video’ and ‘interview’ buttons to show my knowledge of the codes and conventions of the genre of dance music. On my website I will involve a combination of colours, ...

REFLECTION ON MY FIRST DRAFT

After doing my first draft there were a few minor changes that i needed to make to ensure my music video looked the best possible. I had to edit the timings of the clip of the phone with photos on to get the swipe to be on the beat as near as possible. I also needed to ensure the girl jumping in the pool hit the water on the beat as well as the glasses clinking on the beat. These minor changes helped my video look more professional. I also needed to edit out some clips that did not fit the video as well as finishing the last the last few clips to show the two characters going back to her older self. I also edited the saturation and colours of the shots to ensure the colours reached their full potential.
