TEXTUAL ANALYSIS : BAKERMAT AND JAX JONES
Bakermat is a DJ who is known for creating music that is 'not already there yet', by combining different genres that would not be expected to work together to create his own diverse music.
His website:
The first impression given from the website would be seen as simplistic, however the simplistic surrounding then draws attention to the moving image with the DJ's name written across. The video starts at a slow pace showing the involved people with the DJ to then showing the crowds at concerts and festivals as well as the lights and imagery used on their sets. This then begins to give the DJ's sense of feel good dance music, without there even being sound.
The font seen on the website's tabs are very san serif which is also used on their album covers under the Music tab. However, on seven out of their 12 albums a serif font is used for the artists title, and a san serif font is used for the title of the song. Rather than the DJ having a specific logo, the name Bakermat is used with two different fonts to stand out, one being the san serif handwriting seen on the home page of the website (as well as on a couple of their album covers), and the other serif font being seen on seven of their album covers.
The amount of imagery is kept to a minimum, the majority of still images are seen under the music tab, which are the single and album covers. Some are of the artist himself and others are drawings or photo shopped images.

As you look through the website and listen to the music links, Bakermats' diverse side begins to show. Mainly through his single and album covers, followed by the music itself once listened to from clicking on the images. This is then further explained in the biography of the artist, giving an explanation of how he is different to other typical dance DJ's and how he got into the music industry.
Jax Jones:
Jax Jones' website shows of the artists unique side through the focus on the "snacks", each one is a different single by him. He also has a signature animation of himself as a cartoon which features in the middle of the A on the homepage and on each of the boxes.
There is only a san serif font used on
the website, showing off the text in a more bold manor. The font and "snacks" show a fun and not so serious side of the artist, but the songs themselves then show the more serious side within the lyrics.
The music tab consists of Jax Jones' three most recent songs as well as a music video of "Ring Ring". This is surrounded by a red background which majorly stands out. The majority of Jax Jones' imagery and text is red and therefore something which associates them all together.
The website also provides an option to make your own animation similar to Jax Jones', demonstrating the involvement with his audience.
